Get to Know the Admin Team!

At Bold, like any company, the Administration team is the backbone of the company. Every week, we recognize an individual who is excelling in our entry-level position, but we thought it would be fun to use this week to get to know these two ladies a little better!

Kerri (left)- Kerri was born and raised in Arkansas. If you’ve ever talked to her, you can definitely tell from her accent! She moved to Indiana in November of 2012 and has been working at Bold ever since. Kerri graduated from the University of Central Arkansas (GO BEARS!) with a BA in early childhood education. In her free time, Kerri rides her horses, trains dogs, or teaches kids. Her “babies” are her two ADORABLE cocker spaniels, Sassy and Cooper. They are definitely her pride and joy!

Shelbie (right)- Shelbie has been with Bold since October of 2012. She is from Greenwood, Indiana and attends IUPUI where she majors in Management (GO JAGS!) In her free time, Shelbie spends time with her 6 month old son or watches her favorite show, Breaking Bad! Shelbie is responsible for all of Bold’s social media needs, including Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, and Tumblr. Shelbie was attracted to Bold’s awesome team atmosphere. The employees are so welcoming and professional! Shelbie’s main goal with Bold is to use her skills to help Ashley, the President of Bold, be successful.

We are so happy to have such an AWESOME administration team, and we can’t wait to see them reach their goals within Bold!

Kalon's Killin' It!

Congratulations to Kalon, our Employee spotlight of the week!

Kalon is orginially from East Lansing, Michigan. He moved to Indianapolis with our Manager, Glenn, a year ago!

Kalon attended Adrian College and majored in Exercise Science. In college, he played on the hockey team! He was originally premed, but did not like the idea of doing the same thing over and over every day. He saw Bold as an opportunity to advance FAST if he just worked hard!

Kalon says that his greatest accomplishment while working at Bold has been the opportunity to help others be better professionally and personally.

His greatest motivation is his family. Kalon’s mom, dad, and younger brother are what pushes him to be better every day! His family has worked so hard for him that he wants to return the favor. How sweet!

An interesting fact about Kalon? He taught himself how to do the Rubik’s Cube! Awesome!

We are so proud of Kalon and his accomplishments, and we know he will be very successful!

Congratulations to Joe, our Employee Spotlight of the Week!

We took this opportunity to get to know a little more about Joe and his future goals.

Joe is from Crown Point, Indiana. He moved to the Indianapolis area to attend college at the University of Indianapolis. Joe graduated with a degree in Studio Art with a focus in Digital Photography.

Joe has always been artistic and fell in love with taking photos at a young age. So, being the artist that he is, what attracted Joe to a marketing position at Bold?

When Joe started working for Bold, he immediately saw the opportunity for advancement. He knew that he had the chance to grow and soon become his own boss!

Joe hopes to one day give back to his community. He wants to have the resources to provide schools with the necessary art supplies that they need to make sure that art education stays in schools!

Joe’s proudest moment at Bold was when he had the opportunity to help train an employee from another office, and they were promoted the next day! This just goes to show how helpful Bold is in helping new hires achieve their goals!

We are so happy to have Joe on our team, and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for him!

Congratulations to our Spotlight Employee of the Week, JOSH! It’s Josh’s first time in the spotlight, so we took this opportunity to get to know him a little better.

Josh is originally from Chicago. He moved to the Indianapolis area with Glenn, one of our managers! Josh went to Saint Xavier University and studied Criminal Justice with a minor in Business.

Josh’s passion is to one day be a lawyer! When he joined the Bold team, he saw the opportunity for advancement quickly, and he knew that Bold would put him in a stable financial position to pay for law school.

Josh is doing a great job and has many goals for himself and his family. He hopes to one day help his mom pay off the house that she just bought! He also wants to help give his 18-year-old brother the resources to find his own passion. Josh is so thoughtful!

Josh is not the loudest or most outspoken member of the team, and he doesn’t feel the need to be the center of attention, but he is always consistent! In his case, it’s true what they say: actions speak louder than words!

Way to go, Josh!

Haley is our Employee Spotlight of the week again! Haley is an amazing leader, so it’s no surprise that she is recognized for her accomplishments again!

Haley leads many of the business trips that our employees attend, and recently led a very successful one in Anderson, IN! Since Haley has been in the Spotlight before, we decided to ask her what attracted her to a position at Bold Marketing.

In high school and college, Haley was an athlete. She is DEFINITELY a competitor! She has played sports all of her life and has always been successful. She even played varsity lacrosse in college as a freshman! So when Haley applied to Bold, she was first attracted to our sports-minded system. By this, we mean that Bold does not promote their employees based on seniority. As long as our leaders work hard and push themselves to be the best they can be, they will be successful.

Haley’s bubbly personality and willingness to help others learn and succeed are some of the reasons why we love having her here at BOLD! Congrats Haley!

Congratulations to our team leader, Curt, for being the spotlight of the week!

Curt comes from a military family and has moved all around the US, including Kansas, North Carolina, and finally, Indiana.

His father was in the Army, and when Curt graduated high school, he joined the Air Force. Curt even spent a few months deployed in Germany! After the Air Force, Curt attended IUPUI where he majored in Communication and Consulting.

Curt’s favorite thing about working at BOLD is the merit-based promotional system. He knew that as long as he worked hard, he could be successful.

Curt joined the BOLD team in August and has already reached many of his goals! He enjoys going on business trips and helping his team members get promoted! We are so happy to have Curt here at BOLD, and we know that his positive attitude will get him far!

Pat, originally from Cleveland, Ohio, joined the Bold team back in July and has advanced to a leader position very quickly. Pat attended an all guys Jesuit high school in Ohio where he played basketball. After high school, Pat received a scholarship to St. Louis University where he majored in marketing. Pat’s interest in marketing started at a young age when he saw how easily his family could be influenced by marketing strategies. Although his father, a freelance political writer, wanted him to join politics, Pat knew marketing was where he wanted to be. In his free time, Pat loves to play basketball, although he has torn his acl three times and has had multiple surgeries. Pat is a diehard Cav’s fan and enjoys going to underground hip hop shows. Pat is a positive presence in our office and we are confident he will reach his goals!

Shelbie Fowler is the newest addition to our administration team!

Shelbie is currently a junior at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She majors in management with a minor in event planning.

In her free time, Shelbie likes to spend time with her newborn son or extreme coupon. YES, EXTREME COUPON!

Shelbie will be in charge of updating Bold’s search engine optimization, so follow us for updates on Bold news and events!

Due to our current expansion and growth, Shelbie will be working with our HR Director, Carlina. We are very excited to have her on our team!

Anthony is this week’s Employee Spotlight! Anthony is our leading man this week, because he has been taking advantage of his opportunity and working hard towards improvement. Anthony has been taking on other responsibilities while maintaining his duties as a leader. Anthony is leading by example! I asked Anthony some questions regarding his experience and aspirations.

Me: What do you enjoy most about working for Bold Marketing Strategies?

Tony: The bonds made and the experiences both inside and outside of the office. I also like the chance to improve myself as a person and help others do the same.

Me: What are your long-term goals?

Tony: To be able to take care of my family and help in paying college tuition. I also dream to one day own my own gym. I also look forward to all the benefits success brings and sharing that with my partners at Bold..

Me: What excites you most about your career path?

Tony: I’m most excited about the opportunity to have this career path and that I am on the right path…to success!

Me: What are some things that keep you motivated?

Tony: I stay motivated naturally with my competitiveness. Also keeping me motivated is my family and my dreams for the future.

This week, Pat’s performance has been greatly admired! He has quickly distinguished himself as one of the best with his hard work and great attitude. Pat left his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio to attend St. Louis University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After graduating he began looking in several cities for a career path. Pat said he was so enthused with the comradery and opportunity at Bold Marketing Strategies, that he eagerly moved to Indianapolis to begin his pursuit. We are delighted to have him as an addition to our team! Pat has been working intently towards reaching his goals. He said he is driven most by his family and his long-term goals of owning his own business and a farm in his home town. We have no doubt, Pat will reach his aspirations.

This week’s Employee Spotlight is Andrew Sells! Andrew is our leading man this week, and it is well earned with the responsibility he has taken on. Andrew is approaching the promotion that he has earnestly been working towards, and we are getting very excited! We want to know, so I asked Andrew a few questions regarding his experience and his ambitions.

Me: What excites you most about your career path?

Andrew: The prospect of running a successful organization.

Me: What has helped you stay motivated?

Andrew: Keeping in mind my long term goals and having support from the people around me.

Me: What are some improvements you’ve made so far?

Andrew: Maturity, both personally and professionally, along with the level of commitment to reaching my goals.

Me: What is it you enjoy most about your career path?

Andrew: Spending time with the people I care about and seeing others grow and develop as people.

Me: What are your plans for the future?

Andrew: To own my own business on the South East Coast, help retire my parents and get really good at this whole golf thing.

Me: What are a few qualities you carry that have helped you progress?

Andrew: My willingness to learn and be coached, my desire to help others grow and definitely my competitiveness to be the best!

Congrats to Haley, from this week’s Employee Spotlight! Haley is developing into a valuable leader. This is no surprise with her training and experience in leadership roles throughout college. While attending Purdue University, Haley was the captain of her lacrosse team where she was in charge of practices and even delegated responsibilities. Haley spent her summers as a camp counselor at Camp Hayward, where she lead activities and generated innovative ideas and implemented them through activities. Haley also acquired her training through a few organizations, including L.E.A.P. a leadership development program, National Society of Leadership and Success and Women in Business. I asked Haley what her best quality in leadership is, and she said her willingness to do what it takes with no questions asked. I can agree with that. Haley told me her favorite thing about being in a leadership role, was seeing someone progress on account of her training. Haley’s leadership consistently delivers progress in those she is training. We are glad to have Haley as a leader in on our team, and we are eager to see her evolve in the future!

Congrats to Tony, for being this week’s Employee Spotlight! Tony has a competitive edge and has experience working his way to the top. Since he was eight years old, Tony trained and competed in boxing. In 2000, Tony held the Golden Glove Boxing Championship. During his high school career, football was his passion. Tony was the starting quarterback for his nationally ranked high school football team. After graduation, Tony attended Indiana University on a football scholarship. Shortly after, Tony began playing for the semi-pro football team the Indianapolis Tornadoes. During this time, Tony started working at a gym as a trainer, where he quickly worked his way into a management position. Tony’s goals now are to own his own business. It’s evident that Tony is very tenacious and driven, which are two important characteristics to have in being successful. He has been taking initiative and demonstrating leadership. With Tony’s history of competitiveness and achievements, we have no doubt he will become a success.

Congrats Trevor, for being in the Employee Spotlight! It is no surprise that Trevor has been voted Leader of the Week another time. He has strong leadership abilities and is a driven individual. During his days in high school, Trevor was involved in a very serious automobile accident, leaving him in critical condition. With severe head trauma and physical injuries, Trevor was initially told he would never walk again. Being the strong and determined individual that he is, Trevor made an astonishing and unforeseen recovery. He courageously overcame this obstacle and was still able to be a great tutor and mentor for others. During his studies at Indiana University, Trevor was a volunteer tutor in an after school program at the John H. Boner Community Center. He was also a youth mentor at the United Methodist Children and Youth Center Inc. With Trevor’s will to achieve and aspiration to help others, he has evolved into the person he is today. He is an inspiration to us and an excellent leader! Go Trev!

Since joining the team at Bold Marketing Strategies, Andrew has delivered an outstanding performance. Andrew started at Bold Marketing Strategies, shortly after graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University last year. He was a chairman of Phi Kappa Psi, where he incorporated a variety of teamwork and managerial skills to motivate members and implement guidelines. Andrew also initiated and launched the men’s volleyball team at his high school, which indicates his determination and leadership.

I asked Bold Marketing Strategies’ President Ashley Smith, her thoughts on Andrew’s progress and performance.

Q: Why do you think Andrew was voted leader of the week?

A: I think any great leader should have a clear vision and Andrew definitely has a clear view of where he is going. People want to be a part of that.

Q: What are your favorite things about Andrew, professionally and personally?

A: This is a tough one! My favorite thing about Andrew professionally, would be that he can turn any negative into something positive and he is NEVER afraid to take on a challenge. On a personal level, Andrew has a contagious smile. He has great charisma and has a way of making everyone around him feel just as great.

I can agree with that! Andrew is a joy to work with and he is an asset to the team!

Congratulations to Clay Cottom for being LEADER OF THE WEEK! Clay joined Bold’s team last January after graduating from Indiana State University, where he received his Bachelor’s of Management. Clay’s experience in Management, and being President of Sigma Lambda Chi International Honor Society for Leaders in Construction, explains how he swiftly acquired skills in coaching and leadership. He was chosen to run last week’s business trip after showing great leadership and coaching, along with a great attitude and sense of humor. Clay’s ability to run a successful trip, where they reached goals and even a promotion, is evidence he is on the fast track to Management! Keep up the great work Clay!

Say Hello to this week’s Employee Spotlight, our Leader of the Week, Kaylen Bandy! The past few weeks, Kaylen has been hitting goals and exceeding targets. When Kaylen successfully lead last week’s business trip, she displayed good leadership and her capabilities of running a successful office. When I asked fellow team members why they voted for Kaylen, one of them said “Because she is very driven. She knows what she wants and she goes for it.” Another said “She has been consistently hitting goals and surpassing them.” With all her hard work and achievements, it’s definite Kaylen is excelling and demonstrating great leadership. Haley Haracz

Haley was selected for Employee Spotlight this week by fellow employees, who recognize her hard work and willingness to provide help. Haley started at Bold after graduating last May from Purdue University, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Science Management. While at Purdue, Haley received honors and awards in the National Society of Leadership and Success and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Haley retained experience in her role as the captain of the lacrosse team, a public relations chairperson, a member of the sports council and her studies in Italy with a leadership development program. Haley is proficient in leadership and is capable of taking on various assignments, which explains why she is enthusiastic about helping and inclined to taking on responsibility. Haley demonstrates true leadership,and I have confidence that she will establish herself in a superior role. You make a great leader Haley!

Congrats Phil for being this week’s Employee Spotlight! Phil is setting the pace at Bold Marketing, by his adamant efforts and willingness to take on more responsibility! Phil joined Bold’s team shortly after graduating from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business, where he majored in Business and Finance. He acquired his experience in finance, international business and marketing by interning and studying abroad. When I think of Phil, I think of his determination and superb work ethic, which are two essential traits to have to succeed. Phil shows admirable perseverance, but it’s the tenacity and determination he has, that makes him an asset to Bold Marketing’s team. There are no limitations for Phil!

Congrats Georgina, for being in the Employee Spotlight this week! Georgina, was voted Employee of the Week after leading last week’s business trip and delivering excellent results. Showing great leadership and training, Georgina lead two associates to a promotion last week! Georgina, joined Bold’s team last year after graduating from Ball State University. Leaving home in Australia, on a full NCAA tennis scholarship, Georgina studied marketing at Ball State. She maintained her studies while being the team captain for the Varsity tennis team. Georgina managed to earn top student awards in classes, as well as the Student Athlete Coaches Award. It is evident, that Georgina is not only a great leader but is also driven and dedicated to achieving her goals!
